A mission of Japanese cooperative members, Zen-Noh, had a two hour meeting&nbsp; with Ministry of Agriculture Sugar and Alcohol department director \u00c2ngelo Bressan yesterday (05), when they discussed the matter.<\/P><br \/> <P>According to information supplied by the ministry, business with Japan may represent the opening of a yearly market of 1.8 billion litres. Just to give an idea, in the whole of last year, Brazil exported a total of 757 million litres and the sector hopes are that this year export should total 1.5 billion litres.<\/P><br \/> <P>According to the ministry, in 2003 the Japanese government authorized the mixture of 3% anhydrous alcohol to their petrol. To Bressan, Brazil is a strong candidate to supply the Japanese demand . &quot;We guaranteed the Japanese mission that alcohol is a safe product, easy to produce, and cheap,\u201d stated Bressan, according to the ministry press department.<\/P><br \/> <P>Still according to the ministry, Zen-Noh supplies fuel to around 5% of the Japanese market, or a total of 9.5 billion litres of petrol a year.<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Asian country is interested in purchasing anhydrous alcohol from Brazil to mix in their petrol.
