This time around, there will be debate panels, allowing for increased lecturer-attendee interaction.

<

The course will cover the peculiarities of Muslim-majority countries, especially regarding the halal niche (products and services that comply with Islamic tradition), and it is designed to broaden Brazil’s ties with those countries in diplomacy and trade.

“Awareness of these issues is crucial. Through our ‘The Islamic World’ course, we have managed to achieve our mission of showing everyone what the essence of Islam is about,” said Fambras vice president Ali El Zoghbi.

The program will include five modules. The first one is themed “Religion, Principles and Doctrinal Structure”; the second one is “Islamic Civilizational History;’” module three will cover “Geopolitics, Islam and Contemporaneity;” module four is “Geopolitics, Islam and Safety;” and module five is about “Economics, Market and International Trade.”

In addition to these modules, three panels will cover “Islam and its compatibility with modernity;” “Media narratives and their impact on relations with Islam;” and “Inter-religious dialogue as a tool for a culture of peace and its role in the world crisis.”

Speakers will include eleven professors from renowned Brazilian and non-Brazilian universities, including Ali Mazloum (Unilisboa), Ângela Martins (Instituto Mauá), Arlene Clemesha (USP), Jamil Ibrahim Iskadar (Unifesp) and Fernando Luiz Brancoli (UFRJ, Sorbonne).

Also featured will be nine guest speakers, among them Diogo Bercito (a journalist with newspaper Folha de S.
