Their Brazilian Health Devices project is geared towards the export of hospital, dental, laboratory and rehabilitation products for several countries, including UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The renewal ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), on Avenida Paulista, and was attended by Abimo’s chairman Franco Pallamolla, export and marketing manager Clara Porto, sector-specific projects manager Gabriel Isaacsson, and manager of regulatory affairs Joffre Moraes.

The project will see Brazilian companies join four industry shows per year in Dubai: Medlab, Arab Health, AEEDC, and Access Abilities Expo. The latter focuses on rehabilitation and no Brazilians have ever been to it. Plans are also ongoing for a trade mission to Dubai in April 2018.

The idea is to have Brazilian executives sit down with prospective buyers from Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia. “We will invite companies from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the entire Gulf to our meetings,” said Clara Porto.

Porto revealed that registrations will begin next week for Brazilian companies looking to join in. Once a company has confirmed their participation, the Brazilian Health Devices project will go about finding ‘matches’ – or viable business partners – for them.

“For instance, if I do not have any orthopaedical implant company, then there’s no reason for me to find buyers for that. This is why it’s so important for companies to register early on, so we can find matches with time on our hands and in the best way possible,” Porto explained.

According to Porto, companies are more and more interested in the Arab countries. “The Middle East as a market needs to be demystified for Brazilian companies,” she said. The Middle East is the target of 10% to 15% of action under the project, which currently involves 150 Brazilian companies. This number is expected to increase by 2019.

“The Middle East is a market with strong buying potential, and it’s very welcoming of Brazilian products and the Brazilian deal-making style,” said Porto. She also said the Arab rehabilitation market is expected to boom over the next few years.

For the next two years, structuring and training actions under the agreement are expected to increase, in a drive to support businesses with regard to international regulations and help them get started with exports. “We had been working hard on promoting trade, and now we wish to go further and engage in actions that will make our companies more robust internationally,” said Gabriel Isaacsson.

The Abimo-Apex partnership has existed since 2002, and Brazilian Health Devices is now in its 8th edition. The project’s goal is to export USD 128 million and to involve 180 companies total by 2019, including 125 exporting companies.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

Press Release

Brazilian medical technology association Abimo and export promotion agency Apex-Brasil have renewed their commercial promotion agreement, with plans including going to four expos in Dubai, as well as having a mission to the region in 2018.

[107

0":"post-148760","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-business-opportunities
Brazilian medical technology association Abimo and export promotion agency Apex-Brasil have renewed their commercial promotion agreement, with plans including going to four expos in Dubai, as well as having a mission to the region in 2018.
["GET
