The event will be held at Yas Mall, the emirate&rsquo;s biggest shopping venue, featuring goods from Brazilian companies in different industries, as well as cultural performances. <\/p>\n<p>The Festival is intended to enhance Brazil-UAE ties and to spread awareness about the quality and variety of goods available from Brazil, via a Yas Mall-<strong>Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce <\/strong> partnership. <\/p>\n<p>Brazilian footwear, clothing, cosmetics and food companies will be showing their products in kiosks in the mall&rsquo;s central square. The idea is to showcase high-end items in order to build an image for Brazil in the UAE. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We will try to break a bit from the commodity-exporting country stereotype by showcasing finished goods from a number of industries, thereby enhancing the image that Arab countries have of Brazil,&rdquo; said Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce president Rubens Hannun.<\/p>\n<p>Gulfood, one of the world&rsquo;s biggest food industry expos will take place in Dubai (140 km off of Abu Dhabi) from February 18 to 22, featuring some 80 Brazilian exhibitors. Hannun said this will be a good time for Brazilian enterprises in the UAE, since they can also join the Brazilian Festival as visitors or exhibitors. &ldquo;This is a way for companies to get in touch with end buyers at a mall, unlike Gulfood, which is an industry-specific show,&rdquo; he explained. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to the companies&rsquo; stands, an Arab-inspired take on the Brazilian comic book <em>Turma da M&ocirc;nica <\/em>will be featured in a show. There will also be a capoeira session with Brazilian athletes who live in Abu Dhabi; a performance by samba school Unidos da Vila Maria; and an autograph-signing and picture-taking session with Brazilian-American skater Bob Burnquist. <\/p>\n<p>Yas Mall spans roughly 2 million square feet, offering retail and entertainment options. The three-floor mall welcomes locals and tourists. It features national and international restaurants, state-of-the-art movie theaters and a family entertainment area. World-class brands such as Chanel and Dior are represented.
