Conab said output should be 227.9 million tons. Nevertheless, planted area is seen increasing by 1% to 61 million hectares. The 2016\/2017 crop hit an all-time high at 237.7 million tons.<\/p>\n<p>Conab said maize output dropped significantly, by 5.6% to 92.3 million tons. However, the fact that stockpiles are high should mean prices will remain stable. <\/p>\n<p>Soy production is expected to drop 3.2% to 110.4 million tons. toneladas. Cotton output will increase the most, by 11.4% to 1.7 million tons. As for rice, 11.6 million tons are seen being harvested, down 5.7%.
