UN Women, in cooperation with Jordan&rsquo;s Royal Film Commission and embassies, is organizing the sixth edition of the festival, which begins this Thursday (15) and runs until Sunday (18), with free admission. There will be eight movies screened, with showings at 6 pm and 8 pm, throughout the event&rsquo;s four days, at The Rainbow Theater, in Jebel Amman.<\/p>\n<p><<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/imagens\/cod_717444.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian movie will close the festival on Sunday&rsquo;s last showing. The other titles are from the United States, Canada, India, France, Jordan and Lebanon. The event is a tribute to International Women&rsquo;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>Ghada Saba, the festival&rsquo;s artistic director, talked about the importance of projects that underscore women&rsquo;s production and that features women characters that deconstruct stereotypes. &ldquo;Women still have secondary roles and get paid less than men; we want to break these standards, but we&rsquo;re at the beginning of a long journey that&rsquo;s still met with resistance by society,&rdquo; she said, according to the event&rsquo;s website.<\/p>\n<p>Saba also pointed out the importance of the current movements for gender equality in the film industry and outside of it, and for the end of violence and sexual harassment against women.<\/p>\n<p><strong>National representation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Era o Hotel Cambridge&rdquo; is a drama directed by Eliane Caff&eacute; and tells the story of a group of refugees that shares with organized homeless people a building occupation in downtown S&atilde;o Paulo.
