From January to March, the total of goods sent abroad was worth USD 54.4 billion, an increase of 11.3% over 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Imports in Q1 totaled USD 40.4 billion, up 15.8% over the previous quarter. This resulted in a USD 13.9 billion trade surplus, down 3.1% over the same period of 2017. The forecast for 2018 points to a trade surplus of around USD 50 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In March, exports totaled USD 20.1 billion, up 9.6% over 2017, while the month\u2019s imports totaled USD 13.8 billion, an increase of 16.9% over the same period of last year.
