S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Egypt-based company Embrator makes cotton clothing for adults and children, including men\u2019s underwear, pajamas, sportswear and socks. Exports manager Mohamed Kamal spoke with ANBA after visiting the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, in S\u00e3o Paulo. He said the company is looking for partnerships and hopes to start selling his items in Brazil soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe all ties between countries must be based on mutually advantageous agreements,\u201d said Kamal. \u201cConsidering the track record for Brazil and Arab countries, it is likely that we will succeed in achieving formal advances in these [Brazil-Egypt) relations, to keep the interests of both sides moving in the right direction,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

Currently in Brazil to attend the Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum, to deliver a lecture on the New Certificate of Origin for Egypt, and to sit down for B2B sessions, Kamal said there is a lot of polyamide clothing on the Brazilian market, since this is an \u201caffordable product for the middle- and lower-income ranges.\u201d According to him, a good cotton-made clothing is only available to a wealthier, high-income demographic.<\/p>\n

He believes Brazilian consumers didn\u2019t have much choice other than buying polyamide, because the market is \u201cflooded with Chinese product,\u201d and said the same happened in Egypt.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut now I believe consumers understand the difference between a cheap, low-quality product and a good product that\u2019s made of cotton,\u201d said Kamal, explaining that besides the comfort it provides, cotton is healthier for the skin, especially when it comes to underwear.<\/p>\n

Embrator is one of the brands of the Sammakia Bros. Company, which specializes in Egyptian cotton clothing and has been on the market for 20-plus years. It is the industry leader in cotton clothing in Egypt. Its products are available in over 70 own stores across the country and 2,000 multi brand outlets.<\/p>\n

Embrator ships product to 16 countries, 10 of which are Arab \u2013 Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Palestine and Sudan. Non-Arab countries include Kenya, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Canada and South Korea. In Brazil, Embrator is considering brick-and-mortar outlets, online stores, multi brand stores and even supermarkets.<\/p>\n
