S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) announced this Wednesday (18) its first-ever loan in Brazil in conjunction with the New Development Bank (NDB), the Bank of the BRICS. The USD 67.3 million loan will cover construction of six wind farms in Brazil\u2019s Piau\u00ed and Pernambuco states, as part of the Araripe 3 Wind Power Complex, by conglomerate Casa dos Ventos.<\/p>\n
According to BNDES, the complex\u2019s project includes 14 wind farms, with 156 turbines and 358 megawatts of installed capacity.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian Development Bank says the disbursement is the largest ever done by NBD and is part of a contract worth USD 300 million signed by the two banks one year ago. It stipulates investments in wind, solar, hydroelectric and biomass energy.<\/p>\n
