S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The orchestra Orquestra Mundana Refugi will perform at Museu da Casa Brasileira in celebration of Mother\u2019s Day on Sunday, May 13, at 11 am.<\/p>\n

Musician Carlinhos Antunes is the founder of the orchestra\u2019s project, formed by refugees from many countries, including Syria and Palestine.<\/p>\n

The group plays their own compositions and traditional folk tunes from Palestine, Guinea, Congo and Brazil, plus traditional Arab and Persian hymns. Among the instruments used are the kanun, accordion, piano, violin, Chinese cithara and bouzouki.<\/p>\n
