President Lula will depart on May 24th.<\/P> According to the Director of the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Ambassador M\u00e1rio Vilalva, six business contracts will probably be signed during the visit. They total approximately US$ 1.5 billion in private businesses between the two countries, and will cover the areas of energy, construction, and infrastructure. A meeting between representatives of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and Keidanrem, the Japanese entrepreneurial association, is also scheduled. <\/P> Lula will have breakfast, both in South Korea and in Japan, with the presidents of approximately 15 large companies. "It will be a moment in which President Lula and the ministers will be able to talk about the current status of the Brazilian economy, incentives for foreign investments in Brazil, and new investments rules, such as the Public-Private Partnership (PPP)," explained Vilalva.<\/P> The objective of the trip is to increment commercial relations between the two countries. According to Vilalva, Brazilian entrepreneurs will discuss new ways of doing business, such as the possibility of establishing a free trade area between the countries.
