Even though the movie, which is a French, Algerian and German production, was Moussaoui\u2019s debut, it was selected for the <em>Un Certain Regard<\/em> section of the Cannes Film Festival last year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the synopsis released by distributor <a href=\"http:\/\/imovision.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Imovision<\/a>, the film focuses on three main characters in Algeria, a young and wealthy property developer, a woman divided between reason and emotion, and an ambitious neurologist struggling with his memories. \u201cThree stories that involve us in the soul of a contemporary Arab society,\u201d says the distributor\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_175258\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-175258\" style=\"width: 204px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-175258 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/naturezadotempocartaz-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/naturezadotempocartaz-204x300.jpg 204w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/naturezadotempocartaz.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-175258\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Imovision is the movie&#8217;s distributor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The movie trailer <em>(watch below or <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/253130595\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>)<\/em> gives us a hint of the dramas of the script, showing a character that wouldn\u2019t rescue a boy getting beaten, a man who is called to take the neighbor\u2019s daughter to marry to a good man <em>(picture above)<\/em> and the buzz caused by the woman who moved to a new neighborhood and says she was once kidnapped by a terrorist.<\/p>\n<p>The section <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festival-cannes.com\/en\/69-editions\/retrospective\/2017\/palmares\/un-certain-regard#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Un Certain Regard<\/a>, in which the movie competed, takes place simultaneously to the Cannes official competition, and includes more experimental movies. According to Imovision, the review of the movie by French newspaper L<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e Monde<\/a> says that it is \u201cextraordinarily sensitive, precise and evocative. Melancholic and violent. Laconic and stunning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil the Birds Return\u201d will open in the art circuit of four Brazilian cities: at Reserva Cultural and Espa\u00e7o Ita\u00fa de Cinema \u2013 Frei Caneca, in S\u00e3o Paulo; at Esta\u00e7\u00e3o Net Rio, in Rio de Janeiro; at Reserva Cultural, in Niter\u00f3i, Rio de Janeiro; and at Espa\u00e7o Ita\u00fa de Cinema and Liberty Mall, in Bras\u00edlia. Later on, the movie is expected to go to other cities.<\/p>\n<p>Imovision is a distributor of independent cinema and was founded over 25 years ago. It has released over 300 movies in the country. Its catalogue includes renowned movies from Brazilian and foreign directors \u2013 from such markets as the famous Iranian movie scene \u2013 and productions awarded in film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Toronto and Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>The script of \u201cUntil the Birds Return\u201d was written by Maud Ameline and by director Karim Moussaoui. David Thion was the producer and the cinematography was by David Chambille. The movie lasts 113 minutes and is rated PG-12.
