A total of 52,000 tonnes of the product were shipped, against 49,000 in May 2004, according to figures supplied today (08) by the Brazilian Pork Exporters Association (Abipecs).<\/P><br \/> <P>From January to May 2005, pork exports presented a growth of 81.11% when compared to the same period last year. In the first five months of the year, revenues totalled US$ 444 million. The volume shipped, in turn, totalled 234,000 tonnes, against 183,000 tonnes from January to May 2004.<\/P><br \/> <P>Russia is the largest market for Brazilian pork. The country imported a total of 138,060 tonnes in the first five months of the year representing an increase of 25% over the same period last year. Brazilian exports to Russia totalled US$ 279.2 million, a growth of 85.8%.
