The volume is 4.7% smaller than in the 2003\/2004 harvest, of 119.1 million tonnes, according to announcement made by the National Supply Company (Conab). The planted area, on the other hand, increased by 2.8%, going from 47.42 million hectares to 48.74 million hectares.<\/P><br \/> <P>If compared to the estimate of 131.92 million tonnes, made by the Conab in December last year, the break in production reaches 14%, equivalent to 18.4 million tonnes.
