S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 A Saudi Arabian importer will join a B2B event the Brazilian Pharma Chemical and Pharma Inputs Association\u00a0(Abiquifi)<\/a>\u00a0and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil)<\/a>\u00a0will host on Tuesday (22) and Thursday (24) in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

The event will take place in the Abiquifi stand at\u00a0FCE Pharma,<\/a>a pharma tech industry running from May 21 to 24 at S\u00e3o Paulo Expo. Importers from will Turkey, Iran and Chile will also attend.<\/p>\n

Abiquifi executive secretary Norberto Prestes said the Saudi importer works in distribution. Saudi Arabia is a pharma distribution hub for Arab countries, according to Prestes.<\/p>\n

He said Arab countries are a major market for medication and industry inputs. \u201cThey have a big population, and Brazil is in good diplomatic standing with Arab countries, and this makes doing business easier,\u201d Prestes told ANBA.<\/p>\n

Meetings have been scheduled with 15 Brazilian enterprises offering finished products and inputs which are affiliated with an Abiquifi\/Apex-Brasil industry internationalization project.<\/p>\n

Non-Brazilian buyers include both distributors and pharma manufacturers. The latter are often interested in partnering up with Brazilian industry players to get knowledge and explore new markets.<\/p>\n

The \u2018buyer project\u2019 at FCE Pharma (past edition\u00a0pictured above<\/em>) is going into its fourth year. The B2B meetings will take place on the first and third day of the expo; on the second day, the importers will led on a tour of Brazilian manufacturers\u2019 facilities.<\/p>\n

The bringing of importers to Brazil is one of several actions under the Abiquifi\/Apex-Brasil internationalization project. Activities also include exporter and would-be exporter group trips to other countries, international trade shows, training and market surveys.<\/p>\n

The project comprises pharma inputs, human and animal medication and biotechnology.<\/p>\n

As per Brazilian Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services numbers made public by Abiquifi, pharma\/ pharma chemical exports from Brazil were up 5.8% last year to USD 1.75% billion, up from USD 1.6 million in 2016; medication made up USD 1 billion of sales, with inputs grossing USD 752 billion.<\/p>\n
