According to the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), there was an increase of 1.2% in the demand in April over March.<\/p>\n<p>However, in the quarter that ended in April, the IPEA Index declined 1.4%. According to Leonardo Mello de Carvalho, IPEA\u2019s planning and research expert and author of the report, the basis for comparison was high in comparison to the quarter that ended in January.
