In return, the companies involved will get 30-year concessions for other railroads renewed. The plan was made public on Monday (2) by the chief minister of the Secretariat General to the Presidency chief minister, Ronaldo Fonseca, Transportation minister Valter Casimiro, and Investment Partnerships Program (IPP) special secretary Adalberto Vasconcelos.<\/p>\n<p>Priority will be given to two projects, the first being <em>Ferrovia de Integra\u00e7\u00e3o Centro-Oeste<\/em> <em>(Fico)<\/em>, the Center-West Integration Railroad, spanning 383 km from \u00c1gua Boa (MT) to its connection with <em>Ferrovia Norte\u2013Sul<\/em> (the North-South Railroad) in Campinorte (GO). The second project is <em>Ferroanel de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/em> (the S\u00e3o Paulo Rail Ring), covering 53 km from stations Perus, in S\u00e3o Paulo, and\u00a0Manoel Feio, in Itaquaquecetuba, Mogi das Cruzes (SP), and running parallel with the northern section of S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s Rodoanel road ring.<\/p>\n<p>At an estimated cost of BRL 4 billion (USD 1 billion), Fico will be built by mining company Vale, which will get its concessions for the railroads Caraj\u00e1s (in Par\u00e1 and Maranh\u00e3o) and Vit\u00f3ria\u2013Minas renewed through 2057.<\/p>\n<p>Ferroanel builder MRS Log\u00edstica will get several concessions renewed in exchange for building the 53 km span.
