{"id":198421,"date":"2018-07-31T20:11:24","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T23:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=198421"},"modified":"2019-06-30T12:40:47","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T15:40:47","slug":"machinery-exports-rise-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/machinery-exports-rise-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Machinery exports rise 17%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian machinery and equipment exports totaled USD 4.76 billion in the year\u2019s first six months, up 16.8% in comparison to the same period of last year, according to data shown this Tuesday (31) by the Brazilian Machinery Builders\u2019 Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.abimaq.org.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ABIMAQ<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In June, exports totaled USD 871.7 million, up 15.8% over the same month of 2017. \u201cSince 2017, the external market has been the channel used by machinery and equipment manufacturers to maintain their activities. In 2018, exports became responsible for 47% of total sales made by the sector,\u201d stated the association in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Even with the devaluation of the real throughout the year, imports rose strongly. In June, imports reached USD 1.25 billion, up 24.6% in comparison to the same month of 2017.
