He will speak at 9 am on Wednesday, August 15, at the Walid Yazigi Auditorium, in the <strong>Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce <\/strong>headquarters in\u00a0S\u00e3o Paulo. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p>Sch\u00fcler will discuss the challenges facing Brazil in 2019 in light of the election results. One of\u00a0the\u00a0leading political analysts in the country, he is a frequent source for the media and a staple in debates\u00a0on the national elections \u2013 a hot topic right now, since a new president, state governors, senators, federal and state congresspersons will be voted on in October.<\/p>\n<p>Sch\u00fcler is a writer for major media outlets, including newspaper <em>Folha de S. Paulo<\/em>&#8216;s website. He is a professor at Insper, a leading education and research organization active in Business Administration, Economics, Law and Engineering, and widely regarded as one of the premier business schools in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a PhD from Columbia University, a doctorate degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and specializations in Public Policies and Governmental Administration from <em>Escola Nacional de Administra\u00e7\u00e3o P\u00fablica<\/em> (ENAP) and Cultural Management and Ibero-American Cooperation from the University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>A native of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where he served a stint as secretary of Justice and Social Development, he boasts an extensive track record in research, education and social projects. Sch\u00fcler created the <em>Fronteiras do Pensamento<\/em> (Boundaries of Thought) project,\u00a0featuring conferences and analyses on contemporaneity and future perspectives from leading scholars, artists and scientists.<\/p>\n<p>Sch\u00fcler also discusses and writes on international politics and geopolitics. At the Arab Chamber, he will cover what each presidential candidate represents and their likelihood of making it into a runoff election. He will also give an overview of probable outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the agenda will be the alliance system in place in Brazil, whereby candidates and parties can support one another to increase their time on TV and campaign funding.
