The forecast for the primary budget of the Central Government (National Treasury, Social Security System and Central Bank) went from BRL 149.642 billion (USD 40.10 billion) in July, to BRL 148.171 billion (USD 39.71 billion) in August. The forecast stands below the deficit target set by the government at BRL 159 billion (USD 42.61 billion).<\/p>\n<p>The primary budget balance is revenues minus spending before interest rates. The data is part of the survey Prisma Fiscal, conducted by the Secretary of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance.
