{"id":199533,"date":"2018-08-17T20:23:54","date_gmt":"2018-08-17T22:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=199533"},"modified":"2018-08-17T20:44:40","modified_gmt":"2018-08-17T22:44:40","slug":"saudis-launch-apps-designed-help-hajj-pilgrims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/saudis-launch-apps-designed-help-hajj-pilgrims\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudis launch apps designed to help Hajj pilgrims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"pt\"><span title=\"Two million pilgrims descend on Makkah for 'smart hajj' \">S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Saudi Arabians have created the \u2018Smart Hajj\u2019 initiative to help Muslims in their religious pilgrimage to Mecca, with apps to assist with travel plans, medical care and navigation around the holiest sites of Islam, Dubai-based magazine <em>Arabian Business<\/em>\u2019 online version reported.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"pt\"><span title=\"Asefny, for example, is an app launched by Saudi Arabia's Red Crescent to help pilgrims request emergency medical attention. \"><a href=\"https:\/\/hajj.media.gov.sa\/en\/initiatives\/asefny-an-initiative-by-the-saudi-red-crescent-authority-to-receive-emergency-reports-through-smart-phones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Asefny<\/em><\/a>, for instance, is an app released by the Red Crescent in Saudi Arabia to aid pilgrims in requesting emergency medical assistance by enabling authorities to track down a subject\u2019s location<\/span><span title=\"Authorities are able to locate those in need through the app. \">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"pt\"><span title=\"The Saudi hajj ministry also runs the Manasikana app, which provides translation for pilgrims who do not speak Arabic or English. \"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/manasikana.haj.gov.sa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manasikana<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, provides translation services to pilgrims who don\u2019t speak Arabic nor English<\/span><\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"pt\"><span title=\"The Saudi hajj ministry also runs the Manasikana app, which provides translation for pilgrims who do not speak Arabic or English. \">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Both applications are freely downloadable and available in Android and iOS.<\/p>\n<p>Two million Muslims are expected to descend upon Mecca for the pilgrimage. As of last Thursday (17), over 1.6 million had arrived in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj, which is slated to take place from Sunday (19) through Friday (24).
