The airport had only exceeded the\u00a08 million-mark on three other occasions, in January, July and August 2017. The airport\u2019s all-time high was in the latter month at 8.23 million travelers.<\/p>\n<p>July 2018 saw 8.2 million passengers at DXB, up 1.8% from July 2017. Year-to-date through July, the airport saw 51.9 million travelers, up 1.6% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>Passenger traffic from Eastern Europe \u2013 comprising ten countries, among them Croatia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic \u2013 increased the most in July, by 24.4%, driven by added routes from flydubai.\u00a0 Traffic from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) \u2013 the former Soviet Union, comprising Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries \u2013 was up 18.34%. Numbers from Africa were up 9.7%.<\/p>\n<p>India was the top destination country for travelers from DXB, at 1.03 million. Next came Saudi Arabia at 583,975 and the United Kingdom at 581,557. The most popular destination city was London, with 358,201 passengers, followed by Kuwait City with 221,696, Mumbai with 209,205 and Riyadh with 200,411.<\/p>\n<p>DXB handled 35,393 flights in July, up 3.5% from a year ago. Passengers per flight averaged at 238, down 2.1% from July 2017. Year-to-date through July, flights amounted to 237,177, down 1.2% from a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Cargo volume reached 223,488 tons, up 4.8% from July 2017.
