S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 A library with 100 books in Arabic was donated this Thursday (30) at the seat of the S\u00e3o Paulo state government, Pal\u00e1cio Bandeirantes, for the use of the Immigrant Citizenship and Integration Center (CIC), scheduled to open on September 4.<\/p>\n
The Mobile Library of the Kalimat Foundation<\/a>, an UAE-based NGO, includes books from renowned writers from the Arab country, from princess tales to literacy books illustrated with images of animals, for the public between 3 and 17 years old.<\/p>\n According to information by S\u00e3o Paulo state\u2019s press office, the meeting was attended by the president of the Social Solidarity Fund of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo, L\u00facia Fran\u00e7a, and the consul general of the United Arab Emirates in S\u00e3o Paulo, Ibrahim Salem Alalawi.<\/p>\n The donation was made within the actions done by the UAE in S\u00e3o Paulo due to the participation of the emirate of Sharjah as a guest of honor of the S\u00e3o Paulo International Book Biennial<\/a> earlier in August. Other donations of the Arab library were done before this one.<\/p>\n According to the S\u00e3o Paulo state government, the initiative aims to bring closer the Arab and Brazilian cultures through reading.
