The multi-sector fair will take place from September 5 to 15.<\/p>\n<p>The companies are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3iii.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3iii<\/a>, for food and cosmetics; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agilisecosmeticos.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Agilise<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/linha-de-cosmeticos-brasileira-tem-aval-de-egipcio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vitta Gold<\/a>, for cosmetics; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cury.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construtora Cury<\/a>, for construction; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brasecobrasil.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Braseco<\/a>, a trading company dealing in wood and facing; Fadico, for electric materials;\u00a0halal certifiers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fibhalal.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brazilian Islamic Federation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.islamichalal.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Siil Halal<\/a>; and Ramax, for food. Some of them are sending representatives to the fair; others will send promotional material.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fair is open to the general public. It is not intended for businesspersons only, but the local importers always attend,\u201d said Arab Chamber CEO Michel Alaby, who will represent the organization at the event.<\/p>\n<p>The Damascus Fair was held again last year after a five-year hiatus prompted by the conflict in the country. The Arab Chamber and the Embassy had already organized a Brazilian stand in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are doubling the number of companies compared with last year,\u201d said Alaby. Four Brazilian companies were represented in the 2017 Damascus Fair (<em>the event\u2019s opening is pictured at the top of this story<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>From January to July, USD 31 million worth of goods were exported from Brazil to Syria, down 29.4% from a year ago, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services.
