S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Vila Formosa community, in East S\u00e3o Paulo, will be the next place to host the Islamic Solidarity Project, a social action project that\u2019s been taking healthcare services, leisure activities and cosmetic procedures to many districts of the S\u00e3o Paulo metro area to vulnerable populations. The event will mark the celebrations for the nine years of CEU Formosa, on September 22, from 10 am to 3 pm, and is open to the public in general.<\/p>\n
Among the main healthcare services to be offered are eye, breast, hepatitis, cholesterol and high blood pressure exams. The cosmetic procedures are skin cleansing and massage. Among the play activities are the distribution of books to all age groups, including the comic book Khalil<\/a>, which aims to demystify the religion among the young Brazilian readers through the story of a Muslim boy. The comic books bas launched at the stand of the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS) in the last S\u00e3o Paulo International Book Biennial. For the kids, there will also be party jumpers and face painting.<\/p>\n The event will also have the performances of a capoeira group from Vila Formosa, of the Native Brazilian tribe Tenond\u00e9-Por\u00e3 (from Parelheiros district), with music and dancing, and the art of graffiti artists from the group Zuma Luma (from Embu das Artes), who will be painting at the sight a message against religious intolerance.<\/p>\n The event is organized by FAMBRAS, which aims to offer the services to many communities in S\u00e3o Paulo to reach as many people as possible. The event\u2019s last edition, which took place in Guarulhos, was visited by over 10,000 people (picture above)<\/em>.<\/p>\n The Islamic Solidarity Project aims to defend human life and empathy and compassion for others, regardless of religion.
