The numbers are from a monthly services survey (Pesquisa Mensal de Servi\u00e7os &#8211; PMS) made public this Tuesday (16) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).<\/p>\n<p>The sector saw 1.6% growth year-on-year in August, but activity declined by 0.5% year-to-date through August and 0.6% in the 12 months through August. All numbers concern gross revenue.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup in August was driven by transportation, auxiliary transportation services and postal services, which saw activity go up 3.2%.
