Bras\u00edlia \u2013 The IPEA indicator of Apparent Consumption of Industrial Goods declined 0.6% in August over the previous month. The index is measured based on domestic industrial output plus imports, minus exports.<\/p>\n

According to the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), the result was pulled down by the sectors of capital goods (-7.6%) and semi- and non-durable goods (-1%).<\/p>\n

In comparison to August of last year, domestic demand for industrial goods went up 3.7%. Year-over-year, the demand had an even sharper growth (5.5%).<\/p>\n
