The certifications are issued by the National Industrial Property Institute (INPI) for goods with unique features that are native to specific geographical areas.<\/p>\n<p>The certificates are requested by exporters, and importers rely on them as proof of origin. Certified items are eligible for tax breaks or waivers provided for in international trade agreements.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently 58 certified goods and services in Brazil.
