The meeting will be attended by Sahar Nasr, Egypt\u2019s minister of Investment and International Cooperation, and admiral Mohab Mamish, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will probably be joined by a delegation of business owners planning to export, especially products such as fertilizers, food products and textiles,\u201d said the Arab Chamber\u2019s CEO, Michel Alaby.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_203071\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-203071\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/000_18557I.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-203071 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/000_18557I-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/000_18557I-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/000_18557I.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-203071\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Business owners from the textile sector will join the delegation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Among the topics to be discussed are Egypt\u2019s free trade zones, investment opportunities in the Arab country, trade under the Mercosur-Egypt Free Trade Agreement \u2013 which went into effect last year \u2013, and the registration of Brazilian companies and products in the North Africa country.<\/p>\n<p>The director general of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) will make a presentation about the last topic. \u201cAll companies have to register with GOEIC,\u201d said Alaby, adding that this is valid to companies of any nationality.<\/p>\n<p>Egyptian authorities will also discuss the country\u2019s business environment, the economic growth outlook and the stability of the Egyptian pound. The forum is open to all business owners interested in doing business with Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/egypt-sells-food-products-mercosur-countries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The forum\u2019s first edition took place in May of this year<\/a>, also at the Arab Chamber, and Egyptian authorities have been promoting, <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/egypt-brazil-aim-to-speed-up-effects-of-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">since last year<\/a>, when the agreement with Mercosur went into effect, a series of activities to promote business with Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Egypt\u2019s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) should grow 5.3% this year.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s exports to the Egyptian market totaled nearly USD 1.5 billion from January to September, down 14% over the same period of last year, according to data from the Arab Chamber. The main products shipped out were beef, iron ore, maize, sugar and tobacco.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Arab country sold to Brazil over USD 157 million worth of goods, up 21% in the same comparison.
