In the category Pulped Naturals, for pulped natural beans, the winning beans come from the region Chapada de Minas Gerais. Produced at farm Fazenda Primavera, in the town of Angel\u00e2ndia, they reached 93.89 points in the grade scale of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).<\/p>\n<p>In the Naturals category, for dry-processed coffee, the champion was from producer Maria do Carmo Andrade, of farm Fazenda Para\u00edso, in Carmo do Parana\u00edba. The product from the region of the Protected Designation of Origin Cerrado Mineiro reached 93.26 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Cup of Excellence \u2013 Brazil 2018 results were announced after the award\u2019s international round, which ended this Sunday (21). The closing round took place in Guaxup\u00e9, south region of Minas Gerais, and the winners were announced in front of judges from over 10 different countries.<\/p>\n<p>The batches that reached the final round in both categories will be sold at international auctions. According to the organization, there are 100 potential buyers from 40 countries for the Brazilian bags. In 2017, bags of pulped cherry coffee were sold for up to BRL 55,000 (USD 15,520), while those of naturals surpassed BRL 39,000 (USD 11,010).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pulped Naturals<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>The winning pulped cherry coffee, from the company Primavera Agroneg\u00f3cios, is of the Geisha variety, produced in Brazil by Leonardo Montesanto Tavares <em>(first, from left to right, in the picture above)<\/em>. \u201cThis award proves that hard work is worth it, that dedication is important and that we\u2019re truly professionals in what we do. Beyond the financial aspect, the important thing is to be able to show to the world that the north of Minas also produces excellent coffee,\u201d said the producer.<\/p>\n<p>Other than the champions, other coffees scored over 90 points, when they earn the label presidential coffee. In the Pulped Naturals category, the awarded producers were Reinaldo Garcia dos Santos (S\u00edtio Fortaleza, in Luisburgo, region of Matas de Minas), Empresa Dimap (Fazenda Santo Andr\u00e9, in Pratinha, in the region of the Denomination of Origin Cerrado Mineiro), Maria Jos\u00e9 Junqueira C\u00e9glia (Granja S\u00e3o Francisco, in Carmo de Minas, in the region of the Origin Identification Mantiqueira de Minas) and Ant\u00f4nio Macedo Souza (S\u00edtio Santo Ant\u00f4nio, in Piat\u00e3, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Naturals<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the Naturals category, for dry-processed coffee, 40 samples were reviewed. \u201cThe award is the crowning of a life\u2019s work and dedication, mine, of my family, of everyone involved, many people that believe in coffee and its potential,\u201d said Ismael Jos\u00e9 de Andrade, who received the trophy in the name of producer Maria do Carmo Andrade.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_203142\" Amparo, south of Minas Gerais) and \u00c1lvaro Ant\u00f4nio Pereira Coli (S\u00edtio da Torre, in Carmo de Minas, region of Mantiqueira de Minas).<\/p>\n<p>The coffees of Augusto Borges Ferreira (S\u00edtio Fortaleza, in S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo do Sapuca\u00ed, Minas Gerais, in Mantiqueira de Minas) and Alessando Alvez Hervaz (Fazenda Fortaleza, in S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo do Sapuca\u00ed, Minas
