{"id":205250,"date":"2018-12-03T13:41:26","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T16:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=205250"},"modified":"2019-06-30T17:39:38","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T20:39:38","slug":"handicraft-exports-from-morocco-up-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/handicraft-exports-from-morocco-up-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Handicraft exports from Morocco up 18%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rabat \u2013 Handicraft exports from Morocco amounted to MAD 665 million (USD 69.66 million) from January to October, up 18.4% year-on-year,\u00a0<em>Maghreb Arabe Presse (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.map.ma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MAP<\/a>)\u00a0<\/em>quoted the Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy as reporting this Monday (3).<\/p>\n<p>The category for which foreign sales increased the most was blankets, up 86% and outpacing ceramic (<em>pictured at the top of this story<\/em>) and stone items, whose exports climbed 61%. Cast iron items exports increased by 51%.<\/p>\n<p>Exports also went up for tin objects (41%), wooden handicraft (33%), costume jewelry (28%), basketry (27%) and rugs (3%).<\/p>\n<p>Ceramic and stone items, traditional clothing and rugs accounted for half of exports, at respectively 21%, 15% and 14%.<\/p>\n<p>Sales to Europe were up 15%, especially to France, Italy and Spain. Other key destinations were Asia, particularly China, the United States, Canada and Arab countries.<\/p>\n<p>Arab countries are the second-biggest market for Moroccan handicraft, trailing Europe.
