It has also sold a container of coffee, cashew nut and Brazil nut to another importer in the Arab country. The deals were closed between the first and the morning of the second day of SIAL Middle East. The food industry expo in Abu Dhabi includes a Brazilian pavilion organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and featuring 14 companies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_205767\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-205767\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-205767 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/finoagro-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/finoagro-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/finoagro-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/finoagro-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-205767\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Finoagro sells mango in the Middle East<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>ALM Brazil\u2019s CEO Marlucia Martire (<em>pictured at the beginning of this article<\/em>) explains that the pepper to be sold comes from the state of Esp\u00edrito Santo, and that the price of Brazilian product is competitive in the UAE. Marlucia was expecting a third deal to go through with another Middle East importer this Tuesday (11). She says most sales come from referrals. \u201cPeople will buy through word-of-mouth. It\u2019s a matter of trust,\u201d she said. Marlucia believes the deals are also the result of long-term actions \u2013 ALM Brazil has been working on the region\u2019s market since 2010. \u201cI\u2019m very happy with the trade show,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>Also pleased with the turnout at the expo this Tuesday was Finoagro, the mango- and grape-producing of conglomerate Vicunha. The company owns farms in Petrolina, Pernambuco and in Vale do A\u00e7u, Rio Grande do Norte. Operations manager Fernando Max Aquino relates that Finoagro is primarily an exporting company. It has been selling mango to the Middle East for four years now. They are at the show looking for new buyers and seeking expansion in the region. Aquino claims he made three good contacts with enterprises in the UAE, Bahrain and Russia. \u201cI\u2019ve already achieved my goal,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_205771\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-205771\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-205771 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/corysial-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-205771\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Millen of Cory: at SIAL<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Another Brazilian exhibiting company is Cory, which deals in hard candy, cough drops, biscuits and wafers that come in a wide range of flavors and variations. It has manufacturing units in Ribeir\u00e3o Preto, S\u00e3o Paulo and in Arceburgo, Minas Gerais. According to export manager Arthur Jorge Millen, the company already sells in Arab countries \u2013 the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen and Oman. By early afternoon on the second day of SIAL Middle East, he had gotten in touch with importers from Egypt, Oman and the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>Minerva, the leading beef exporting company in South America, also has a stand at the Abu Dhabi expo. Its Lebanon sales manager Bassam Karanouh said the company is at the expo to seek new opportunities as well as meet up with its clients. It was very busy during the show\u2019s first two days. The product mix available in the pavilion as a whole is very comprehensive, with items including meats, a\u00e7a\u00ed, propolis, fruits, sweets, beans, seeds, food-making machinery, etc. Brazil is a major supplier of food products to the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian pavilion was launched on Monday (10) by UAE deputy prime minister Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the presence of Brazil\u2019s ambassador to the UAE, Fernando Lu\u00eds Lemos Igreja. The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccab.org.br\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0support the Brazilian participation in SIAL Middle East. The Chamber\u2019s international business executive Fernanda Baltazar is at the show.
