The film will show at 5:30 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2019. This 2015 French production premiered in Brazil in 2017, with distribution by Imovision. It was co-written and directed by Philippe Faucon as an adaptation of two books by Fatima Elayoubi \u2013 who also shares script credits: \u201cPri\u00e8re \u00e0 la Lune\u201d and \u201cEnfin, je peux marcher seule\u201d (\u2018Prayer to the Moon\u2019 and \u2018Finally I can walk alone\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Fatima (Soria Zeroual) is an Algerian Muslim driven away from her native town by war who relocates to Lion, France. Divorced and the mother of two teenage girls, Nesrine (Zita Hanrot), who\u2019s 18 and going into medical school, and the rebellious 15-year-old Souad (Kenza Noah A\u00efche), Fatima is bent on having her daughters go to school so they will have a chance at a better life. She works as a maid and doesn\u2019t speak French well, and this makes it hard for her to communicate with her kids. Fatima eventually falls of a staircase, and during recovery, she takes the time to write down \u2013 in Arabic \u2013 everything she was unable to say to her daughters in French.<\/p>\n<p>This 79-minute drama will be shown at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sescsp.org.br\/programacao\/177866_FATIMA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sesc S\u00e3o Carlos<\/a> theater. Up to two tickets will be available per person at the venue one hour prior to the session.
