A total of BRL 7.6 billion (USD 1.9 billion) will be invested in power utilities in the states of Pernambuco, Maranh\u00e3o, Bahia, Par\u00e1, S\u00e3o Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paran\u00e1 and Rio Grande do Sul.<\/p>\n<p>The BNDES will supply two lines of financing to the Equatorial Energia conglomerate, to roll out the 2018-2020 investment plans of power utilities Centrais El\u00e9tricas do Par\u00e1 S.A. (Celpa) and Companhia Energ\u00e9tica do Maranh\u00e3o (Cemar) in the triennium. The funds will be employed by Celpa and Cemar in technology updates, offsetting of commercial losses, system expansion and improvement of operations and quality of services rendered.<\/p>\n<p>The bank also cleared BRL 2.47 billion (USD 632.9 million) in loans to the Neoenergia conglomerate, active in 223 municipalities in S\u00e3o Paulo and five in Mato Grosso do Sul. The funds will go into increasing power supplies and adapting services to customer demand, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>The CPFL\/State Grid conglomerate will get BRL 2.6 billion (USD 666 million) in loans from the BNDES for implementation of the investment plans of five utilities active in several municipalities in the states of S\u00e3o Paulo, Minas, Paran\u00e1 and Rio Grande do Sul.
