So said this Wednesday (9) the country\u2019s minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rabbah,<em> Maghreb Arabe Presse (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.map.ma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MAP<\/a>)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, Morocco intends to increase that amount by 10,000 MW by 2030, including 4,500 MW in solar power, 4,200 MW in wind power, and 1,300 MW in hydroelectric power.<\/p>\n<p>One of the goals in investing in renewable power is to reduce dependence from other countries, which is decreasing but remains strong. Imports, which used to supply 98% of Morocco\u2019s energy needs in 2007, covered 93.3% of those needs in 2017.
