The numbers were made public this Monday (21) by industry organization\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acobrasil.org.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instituto A\u00e7o Brasil<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the institute, domestic steel sales were 18.3 million tons, up 8.2% from 2017. Apparent consumption of steel products increased by 7.3% to 20.6 million tons.<\/p>\n<p>Steel imports widened by 3.3% to 2.4 million tons.
