In January 2018, the index was 0.29%.<\/p>\n<p>The IPCA was published this Friday (8) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE, acronym in Portuguese). In the accumulated of the last 12 months, the official inflation stood at 3.78%, slightly above the 3.75% registered in the 12 previous months.<\/p>\n<p>The inflation in January was driven by the food and beverage group, which grew in the last 30 days, ending the month at 0.90%. Following are personal expenses, which rose 0.61%. Together, these two groups accounted for approximately 90% of the month index.
