{"id":210875,"date":"2019-03-17T07:00:44","date_gmt":"2019-03-17T10:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=210875"},"modified":"2019-06-30T16:31:45","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T19:31:45","slug":"rio-university-to-offer-course-in-hieroglyphics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/rio-university-to-offer-course-in-hieroglyphics\/","title":{"rendered":"Rio university to offer course in hieroglyphics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Rio de Janeiro State University (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uerj.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UERJ)<\/a> is offering the course <em>Hier\u00f3glifos: Curso de L\u00edngua Eg\u00edpcia<\/em> starting this month. Classes will take place at the UERJ\u2019s Center for Studies in Antiquity (NEA-UERJ) from 10 am to noon on Saturdays from March 23 to June 8. To enroll, students must fill in a downloadable form from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.neauerj.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NEA website<\/a>\u00a0and hand it in at the Center, in UERJ\u2019s Maracan\u00e3 Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The course costs BRL 50, which are to be paid at the time of enrolment. The course will be taught by Liliane Coelho, who holds a doctorate in History from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). She currently teaches at the Campos de Andrade University Center (Uniandrade). The NEA is coordinated by Maria Regina Candido, a doctorate holder in Social History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).<\/p>\n<p>Also scheduled for 2019 is an extension course in Power Relations in Ancient Egypt, in October and November, with UFF Ancient and Medieval History professor J\u00falio Gralha.<\/p>\n<p>UERJ\u2019s historical research center, the NEA features researchers into different aspects of Antiquity.
