Data was published this Friday (15) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibge.gov.br\/en\/home-eng.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IBGE<\/a>). Compared to January 2018, however, the volume grew by 2.1%.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the 27 states analyzed, 14 posted declines over December 2018. The worst performance was by Mato Grosso, with a 9.9% drop. Acre declined by 9.6%, while S\u00e3o Paulo declined by 0.5%. The institute survey manager Rodrigo Lobo said in the release that \u201con a broader analysis, this slight decline in the monthly result hasn\u2019t offset the accumulated average between November 2018 and last January.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two activities accounting for 63% of the services in the country posted declines over December 2018. One of them was the segment of transport, services auxiliary to transports and posting, which dropped by 0.6%. Other service that has declined was information and communication sector, with a 0.2% drop.<\/p>\n<p>Among the sectors that grew are professional, administrative and complementary services, up by 1.7%. A 4.8% growth was registered in \u201cother services,\u201d which encompass real estate purchases, sales and rent as well as automotive vehicle maintenance; and 1.1% in services provided to families. Other services tracked by the survey are tourism activities. In January, the segment grew both over December 2018 (3.2%) and January 2018 (3.8%).
