{"id":211631,"date":"2019-03-31T07:00:52","date_gmt":"2019-03-31T10:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=211631"},"modified":"2019-06-30T18:24:38","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T21:24:38","slug":"jordan-expects-10-hike-in-brazilian-tourist-numbers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/jordan-expects-10-hike-in-brazilian-tourist-numbers\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan expects 10% hike in Brazilian tourist numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Jordan Tourism Board (<a href=\"http:\/\/pt.visitjordan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JTB<\/a>) is working to get more Brazilians to visit the country in 2019. \u201cWe have the target of increasing Brazilian tourist numbers by at least 10%,\u201d JTB Marketing manager for Brazil Majd Abu Arqub said during an event (pictured above) at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccab.org.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0auditorium in S\u00e3o Paulo last week.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan Ministry of Tourism numbers show that in 2017, over 13,300 Brazilians visited major tourist sites in Jordan. March 2019 saw JTB delegates travel to four capitals across Brazil to promote Jordan as a destination. The events were attended by journalists and influencers. The new tourism strategy is also intended to get Brazilians to spend more time in Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>After a hiatus unrepresented in Brazil, the JTB appointed Brazil-based company Global Vision Access Marketing e Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o em Turismo (GVA) as its local representative. \u201cWe want to increase the number of days these people spend in Jordan. We want them to be there for more than just one full day. We want them to get accommodations and see more of the country,\u201d explained GVA relationship manager Renata Rimbano during the road show in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan tourism marketing is now focusing on packages of at least 8 days, so travelers can see cities other than Petra \u2013 a widely known destination. Petra welcomed 11,751 out of the 13,000-plus Brazilian tourists visiting Jordan in 2017, as per Jordan Ministry of Tourism figures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have begun to dominate the market in Brazil, and in our first road show we travelled to Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte and S\u00e3o Paulo. We met with journalists and church people to discuss the attractions in Jordan, and the interest in Jordan as a destination in Brazil,\u201d Arqub told ANBA.
