S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Egypt had a mass participation in the travel industry show WTM Latin America 2019<\/a>, which ended this Wednesday (4) at Expo Center Norte in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil. Twenty-three Egyptian tourism agencies were there, 18 of them exhibiting at the stand organized by the Egyptian Tourism<\/a> Promotion Board.<\/p>\n

In 2018, over 22,000 Brazilians visited the Arab country according to the director of Egyptian Board Latin America unit Mohamed Mohsen Ismael (left at the photo above)<\/em>. \u201cWe expect the number to grow by 20% this year,\u201d Ismael said in an interview to ANBA, beside the Latin America assistant director, Hend Radwan (with a pink scarf)<\/em>, and the Egyptian commercial consul in S\u00e3o Paulo, Mohamed Elkhatib (right)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The country promoted several touristic attractions, including religious and historical ones. \u201cTouristic monuments related to the Roman civilizations, for example, can be found in several countries. But our pharaonic civilization can be found only in Egypt,\u201d pointed out Ismael. According to the director, one of the activities that have stood out among Brazilians is the search for a honeymoon destination. These are five- to ten-day-stay packages.<\/p>\n

To promote Morocco, the company Morocco Private Travel<\/a> also exhibited at the event. The company tries to open market among Brazilians. \u201cWe still haven\u2019t worked with partners in Brazil and that\u2019s why we are here. We\u2019ve met a lot of people and could say that two contacts were stronger,\u201d revealed the company\u2019s CEO and founder Amal Moukhilisse.<\/p>\n

The executive hopes to attract interest for the family tourism. \u201cIn Morocco, Brazilians can do it all, learn about history, architecture, famous cities such as Casablanca, Marrakesh, Rabat, and many other,\u201d said Moukhilisse.<\/p>\n

The show featured spaces for different regions of the world, including the Middle East and Africa. In addition to those at the Egyptian Board\u2019s stand and the Moroccan one, the Arab companies at the event included Corsini<\/a>, Egypt7000Travel<\/a> and Fayed Travel<\/a> from Egypt, as well as\u00a0Splendid Travel & Tourism<\/a>, based both in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Cairo, Egypt.<\/p>\n
