The event is held by NGO\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/africadocoracao.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00c1frica do Cora\u00e7\u00e3o<\/a>, in partnership with international Catholic Church organization\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/caritas.org.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">C\u00e1ritas<\/a>, NGO\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conectas.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conectas Direitos Humanos<\/a> and the CCSP <em>(pictured)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The debate is intended to create a space where Brazilians and immigrants can discuss Brazil\u2019s exiting the compact on migration, as well as pinpoint the biggest issues facing Brazilians living abroad and immigrants living in Brazil and come up with proposals for organizations (like \u00c1frica do Cora\u00e7\u00e3o) to embrace gender perspectives when catering to migrants and refugees.<\/p>\n<p>Host Jean Katumba of \u00c1frica do Cora\u00e7\u00e3o will welcome attendees. A delegate from Conectas will cover gender issues in connection with immigration, and a representative from C\u00e1ritas will discuss perspectives as Brazil steps out of the Global Compact on Migration, and the organization\u2019s proposal on the subject. Abdulbaset Jarour of Syria will speak from the vantage point of a refugee in Brazil.
