S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The deadline for entries to the Zayed Sustainability Prize is next Thursday (30). The accolade is granted on an annual basis by the government of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to sustainable projects in five categories: Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Global High Schools.<\/p>\n
The latter is granted to one school in each of the following regions: the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, Europe & Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia & Pacific.<\/p>\n
Schools can submit students\u2019 sustainability-oriented project to get funding to roll out or improve their plans. Brazilian schools have been in the finals in past editions.<\/p>\n
Projects with demonstrable impact in Health, Food, Energy or Water from small and medium businesses or non-profit organizations are also eligible.<\/p>\n
Last month, the Consulate of the UAE to S\u00e3o Paulo hosted an event at the\u00a0Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in S\u00e3o Paulo, to publicize in-depth information on the Prize<\/a>.<\/p>\n Cash prizes amount to a combined USD 3 million, with each USD 600,000 doled out in each category.
