S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The auction for power supply to Roraima, Brazil, held this Friday (31), yielded BRL 1.62 billion (USD 408 mn) in investments to hire a power of 293.8 megawatts. Prices ranged from BRL 670 to BRL 1.059.17 (USD 168.54-266.44) for the amount paid for megawatt\/hour (MWh).<\/p>\n

Overall, nine enterprises were authorized to supply energy to Boa Vista and other connected cities. Out of them, eight will have 15-year contracts to work with natural gas or renewable sources. They include Uniagro, which will offer power from wood-based biomass plants, as well as Enerplan and BBF, which won with hybrids of biofuel and solar power.<\/p>\n

Supply is expected to begin on June 28, 2021. Today auction had 156 participating enterprises. Roraima is the only state that is not part of the National Interconnected System.<\/p>\n
