The Saudi sovereign fund has investments in multiple sectors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomsonreuters.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thomson Reuters<\/a>\u2019 financial news website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zawya.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Zawya<\/em><\/a>\u00a0reported on Sunday (9).<\/p>\n<p>The IIF said a major component of Saudi Arabia\u2019s economic diversification plan Vision 2030 is \u201cthe transformation of the PIF from a state holding company into one of the world\u2019s largest sovereign investment vehicles.\u201d The goal is to reach USD 400 billion in 2020 and USD 2 trillion by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>According to the IIF, one-fourth of PIF funds are invested abroad, including stakes in Japan\u2019s Softbank Vision Fund, USA-based electric carmaker Tesla, Uber, the New York City infrastructure fund Blackstone, and investment funds in Russia and Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>To the IIF, privatizations and the sale of 5% of oil company Saudi Aramco will soon significantly boost the PIF\u2019s assets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"credits-overlay\" data-target=\".wp-image-215505\">Fayez Nureldine\/AFP<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The estimate regarding the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is from the Institute of International Finance.
