Sales fetched USD 86 million, up 17%. The numbers were released this Monday (10) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cecafe.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cecaf\u00e9<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Arab countries took in 4.3% of total coffee exports from Brazil, up from 4% year-to-date through May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The figures point to a pickup in sales to Arab countries in May, since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/asia-drives-demand-for-coffee-arab-imports-also-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">year-to-date through April had seen a 39.8% increase in amount and an 8% increase in revenue<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cecaf\u00e9 said May coffee exports were the biggest on record for the month. Total exports came out to 3.5 million bags, up 103.5% year-on-year, and USD 416.2 million, up 57.6%. Average price per bag was down 22.6% year-on-year in May.<\/p>\n<p>Year-to-date through May saw 16.9 million bags of coffee had gotten shipped from Brazil, up 40% from a year ago, fetching USD 2.1 billion, up 12.7%. Cecaf\u00e9 said those were the best results in five years for this time of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrazilian coffee exports continue to perform very well, with great results for the month, the year and the crop-year, which ends this month [June].
