Marina Sarruf* S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian minister of Health, Jos\u00e9 Gomes Tempor\u00e3o, said today (12) in the southeastern Brazilian city of S\u00e3o Paulo, at the opening of the Hospitalar, Latin America\u2019s largest health sector fair, that " it is easy to realise the potential and wealth of the Brazilian health sector,\u201d referring to the size of the event, which is the world\u2019s second largest. \u201cThe fair has long ceased to be just for products and technology, and it became a major event for discussing health,\u201d he claimed.<\/P> The minister recalled in his address that the Hospitalar counts on the participation of over 1,000 exhibitors from 30 different countries, and that the sector is now going through a phase of improvement. According to Tempor\u00e3o, promotion, improvement in quality and management of public services are among the goals of the government in office.<\/P> To the governor of the southern Brazilian state of S\u00e3o Paulo, Jos\u00e9 Serra, the Hospitalar attests to the effort and advancements of the Brazilian industry. \u201cThis exhibit is very important to our country. It is a fair that brings together 1,000 exhibitors, 70% of which are Brazilian industries, and this is proof of our industry\u2019s effort,\u201d he stated.<\/P> According to the president of the fair, Waleska Santos, the Hospitalar has become an \u201cinternational health week\u201d. \u201cIn the last 14 years, the event became a worldwide reference point,\u201d she said.<\/P> The fair, which will continue until Friday (15) at the Expo Center Norte, counts on 300 international exhibitors, including Egyptian ones.
