{"id":251327,"date":"2019-07-02T11:52:41","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T14:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=251327"},"modified":"2019-07-02T12:31:51","modified_gmt":"2019-07-02T15:31:51","slug":"uae-approves-up-to-100-foreign-ownership-in-122-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/uae-approves-up-to-100-foreign-ownership-in-122-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"UAE approves up to 100% foreign ownership in 122 activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The UAE has approved up to 100% foreign ownership of businesses for 122 economic activities in 13 different industries, local outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gulf News<\/a> reported this Tuesday (2).<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made by the cabinet chaired by UAE vice president and prime minister Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (pictured above, 3<sup>rd<\/sup> from R to L), who\u2019s also ruler of the emirate of Dubai. The move is intended to support growth and reaffirm the country\u2019s status as a global investment hub.<\/p>\n<p>Industries eligible for 100% foreign ownership include renewable energy, space, agriculture and manufacturing. Renewable energy options include manufacturing of solar panels, power transformers, green technology and hybrid power plants. Another option is transport and storage, including e-commerce transport, logistics and cold storage for pharmaceuticals.<\/p>\n<p>The foreign ownership list also includes hospitality and food services, information and communications, as well as professional, scientific and technical activities, including ownership in laboratories for research and development in biotechnology. Also included are educational activities, healthcare, construction, and art and entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Gulf News<\/em> said each emirate\u2019s government will determine ownership rates for each industry. \u201cLocal governments will identify the percentage of ownership in each activity according to their circumstances. Our goal is to stimulate, activate and facilitate businesses. We want to open and expand new economic sectors.
