The season-adjusted Central Bank of Brazil\u2019s Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br) rose 0.54% in May from April this year, the Central Bank (BC) reported this Monday (15).<\/p>\n<p>Year-on-year, the increase reached 4.40% (not season-adjusted, since the comparison is between equal months). In May last year, the economic activity was adversely affected by the truckers\u2019 strike. The 12 months through May saw a 1.31% growth. Year-to-date, there was a 0.94% increase.<\/p>\n<p>The IBC-Br is an approximation intended to anticipate economic behavior.
