S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The construction of the artificial island in the shape of palm trees in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will be among the themes of Inovaconstruir Experience<\/a>, an event on construction innovation to run on September 19 and 20 in Fortaleza, Cear\u00e1. The lecturer will be Tim Helbo, area director with the Dutch company Van Oord, which was responsible for the sea dredging at the construction. The company has a unit in Rio de Janeiro, where Helbo works.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an emblematic case, a large, special, huge-scale work,\u201d Inovaconstruir Experience chairman and Union of Industrial Civil Construction of the State of Cear\u00e1 (Sinduscon-CE) vice-president Augusto Menezes told ANBA by the phone. Sinduscon-CE promotes the event, which aims to bring construction innovation to Cear\u00e1.<\/p>\n

According to Menezes, the cases shown at Inovaconstruir Experience aim to inspire the construction in the state. Menezes said that Cear\u00e1 hasn\u2019t a work so large as the Palm Islands, but Fortaleza is promoting the increase of the beach area in some stretches of its coast. He argued that it\u2019s possible to do such works without harming the environment or ruining the ecosystem.<\/p>\n

At the lecture, Tim Helbo will talk about the work execution and show the difficulties faced. The project had to be revised to deal with the water flow between the palm leaves, Menezes said. The work was by Nakheel Properties from the UAE, which designed the project to be the world\u2019s largest artificial islands. Similar endeavors were announced in Dubai, such as the Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira, but Palm Jumeirah is the only one that was completed and holds houses, hotels, shops, offices, leisure areas, and other facilities.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth edition of Inovaconstruir Experience, which always presents construction innovative cases. Germany\u2019s Huesker executive Pedro Henrique Marcondes will talk about the work to expand the Airbus plant in Hamburg, which was done by his company. Bentley Systems Am\u00e9rica Latina new business manager Leonardo Tavares will address digital transformation and disruptive technologies, the usage of the Building Information Model (BIM), digital twins (elaborate replicas of assembly lines), and Internet of things (IOT) in infrastructure, mentioning the Digital Airport in Londrina developed by Infraero.<\/p>\n

Lecturers confirmed include Construcode CEO Diego Mendes, who\u2019ll talk about a construction project management software that converts layouts in tags that can be accessed through cell phones or tablets, and Haut founding partner Thiago Monteiro, who will make a presentation on luxury real estate market innovation, with the creation of purposeful building, considering the consumer habits of the new generations.<\/p>\n

The Sinduscon innovation program Inovacon will also be addressed, and the civil engineer Eduardo Cabral will talk about high-performance concrete in vertical works. The usage of drones and thermography (temperature mapping) in hearings, analysis and pathology diagnosis in buildings will be addressed by a Tecnologia de Gest\u00e3o de Im\u00f3veis (TDGI) representative, while smart cities and development innovations will be addressed by Foster + Partners architect Edson Yabiku.<\/p>\n

Six hundred construction businessmen, professionals and students are expected to attend the event. The discussions will take place at Teatro RioMar Fortaleza and there\u2019ll be a simultaneous translation into Portuguese for lectures given in other languages. In additional to the panels, there\u2019ll a space with stands for the events\u2019 sponsors. Inovacon BIM Award ceremony will also occur at the event. Prices to participate vary for members, non-members and students (prices are listed at the website below)<\/em>. The full program and lecture schedule are yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
